Chief Engineer - Electrified Powertrain

We are looking for experts in the electrification field to join the Powertrain Engineering team.  This position is a leader within the organization and provides guidance to customers and project teams.  

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects. The Chief Engineer leads a team of project members, as assigned, to satisfy customer requirements and contractual obligations and serves as the technical authority on projects.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the technical delivery of the assigned technical programs, meeting Company and Customer standards.
  • Guides the daily work of the technical project team members, as assigned , including those of Affiliates assigned via part project
  • Reviews work product of the project team and provides guidance to ensure the accuracy and quality of work
  • Works with a program manager for management of the finances and time lines.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure appropriate technology is developed/applied to ensure program success.
  • Develops a significant relationship with the customer with the objective of securing additional and future business.
  • Works with Skill Team Leaders and Engineering Leadership to ensure programs are resourced effectively.
  • Identify future program resource needs and communicate this to the Engineering Leadership and Skill Team Leaders.
  • Identify project performance issues and bring to the attention of Skill Team Leaders.
  • Provide status reports to Leadership Team.
  • Review and approve technical project reports.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Ten years' experience in Design or Development activities in Powertrain Engineering 
  • 5 years' experience leading projects of value greater than $150k.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams of greater than 10 persons.
  • Demonstrated customer care skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading Electrification projects
