This company is a small to mid-sized pharmaceutical company with a global reach. They currently have R&D facilities in the US, Europe and Asia and focus in developing therapies in the areas of diabetes, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, NASH and pulmonary fibrosis.    

They have 14 active clinical trials globally; 3 (ph III), 6 (ph II) and 5 (ph I) with additional trials planned to kick off shortly.

Executive Director, Clinical Development Lead (MD)

This opportunity is with small to mid-sized pharmaceutical company with a focus in developing therapies in the areas of diabetes, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, NASH and pulmonary fibrosis.

This organization currently has research divisions in Japan, UK and US (North Carolina). 

With a large focus on expanding their R&D footprint they have opened a joint research institution in the Boston, Massachusetts area in which Company researchers and scientists from Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, conduct joint research on discovery and development in the field of cardiometabolic diseases.

The Executive Director, Clinical Development will assume overall responsibility for the company's activities within drug development and will provide strategic leadership across all programs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leading/Contributing to clinical development strategy and clinical development plans.
  • Providing input to company's drug development portfolio and about study design of new clinical trials.
  • Oversight of project management, clinical operations, and pharmacovigilance staff for clinical development programs.
  • Development, review and presentation of scientific material on investigational drugs to internal and external audiences.
  • Develop and maintain strategic clinical relationships with Advisory Board Members, Data Safety Monitoring Boards, and other relevant external physician and scientific consultants.
  • Provide medical expertise for business development/licensing staff.

  • MD degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant medical and pharmaceutical experience.
  • Participation in at least two submissions (NDA, ANDA, IND, BLA)
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and affiliates.
  • The ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
