Reliability Engineer

We build autonomous security robots that keep buildings safe by combining the reliability of machines and the friendly face of human-in-the-loop "Robot Specialists'. Security costs US companies over $200B / year and is a very difficult task for humans to perform because of long monotonous hours.

With Robots deployed to customers nationally we are an incredibly fast-moving team - we went from nothing to shipping our first robots in 12 months! We are 35+ people now and we're looking for folks who are scrappy, collaborative, excited, and eager to share their knowledge and expertise with the rest of our team.


Come create the engineering testing team at a growing robotics start-up! We have a complex system with a variety of hardware and software subsystems that we are looking to mature with rigorous testing. We're transitioning from late-stage prototypes to production models, so you'll have the opportunity to analyze our existing processes and create new testing processes from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to work across all engineering departments  as we prioritize reliability across the stack.

Your mission will be to foresee mechanical and electrical failures before they happen and to design and run tests of subsystems that allow us to build incredibly robust robots.

Main Tasks
  • Think critically about the robot's reliability, and anticipate failures
  • Do root cause analysis of failures during testing and in the field
  • Help MechE figure out where we need to have tests for subcomponents, and what we should test
  • Help MechE improve workflow and production line
  • Implement those tests, via mechanical fixtures, arduinos, and python scripts
  • Design our battle testing procedures, and run it smoothly
Skills required
  • Experience thinking about reliability, failure analysis, and systems
  • Enough EE skills to hook up basic actuators and sensors for a test. Great at arduino.
  • Enough python skills to write clean test scripts and collect data.
  • Enough ME skills to build a test fixture with 80:20 and laser cut parts.
  • Love data analysis
