As the first SysOps Engineer,  we will depend on you for the development, operation, and improvement of critical business systems. You will architect and deploy integrated software and hardware solutions to enable a delightful user experience in and out of the office. You will give a face to our internal technology infrastructure and services and often be the first point of contact for internal IT concerns. You will help and educate staff in simple terms on how to get set-up and self-serve where appropriate. Your people skills and empathy will help you understand the needs of your users and develop trust in SysOps.

  • Be available to support users during peak business hours (10am-4pm PST).
  • Work with new hires to get their appropriate accounts and software set-up.
  • Maintain and develop facility services such as physical access control systems and conference room technology.
  • Manage the configurations and security policies of mobile and on-premises devices such as laptops, tablets, network appliances, and servers.
  • Maintain and improve network services such as WiFi and VPN.
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain critical system services such as identity management, endpoint protection, configuration management.
  • Organize, track, manage, and maintain physical and virtual IT assets.
  • Ensure security, privacy, and integrity of data and other resources.
  • Coordinate directly with development and security operations teams to align on goals and interdependencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience as a Systems Administrator, Systems or Support Engineer, or related IT experience.
  • BS/AS degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field involving IT or systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience administering macOS (preferred), Linux, or Windows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • On-premise compute and storage hardware operations experience.
  • Terminal operation and shell scripting experience.
  • Strong TCP/IP networking, DNS, and VPN knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of SSO and SAML.

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
  • Start-up experience.
  • Strong Windows, macOS, and Linux systems administration experience.
  • G Suite administration experience.
  • Storage administration experience.
  • Public cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure) experience.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with SSL/TLS and PKI.
